So, it seems that I can plan my summer out already. Thanks to Collegiate Entrepreneurs, what it is is a company that offers college students a job over the summer. However, the job they offer is to be a manager in their business of painting houses. So what they'll do is put me through all of this training so I can be a manager, then plop me back ( Read more... )

Sounds like a pretty good scheme. Stick with painting, btw, because installing woodstoves would be a pain in the butt, and if you want to get into the firewood business, you need to have stores dried from last summer and be ready to sell for a slim profit margin (lots of competition). Painting, I have no idea what the market is like. Go for it.

How hard can it be to crunch some numbers, advertise, hire people, and deal with supplies?

i can imagine that question coming back to haunt you.
