Remember how I volunteered to be on the search committee for our new Provost? I have to read CV's, letters-of-intent, references, etc, some of which are 30 pages per candidate,from 90 candidates, by next Thursday, when I am expected to present my top 10 choices to the rest of the committee. I would like to get a start right now, but they're all on

I hope it's ok to get in touch with you this way, as I'm unable to send you a LJ message.

Over at the flame, we're trying to get all edits for week one wrapped up by this Friday. If you still have edits to finish off and check off the poll, could you please do them by this Friday? Please let me know if you need help finishing them off, and we'll work something out.

I'm sorry I'm really swamped at work until the end of the day. I had planned on finishing them tonight; would that be OK? I want to do this, and I'm sorry I've begun my "editing carreer" so irresponsibly.

That's perfectly fine! Please don't feel bad- you definitely haven't been irresponsible! Life and work have to happen, and I know you will do them as soon as you can!
