Today I worked on the mobile sandbox for my nephew, which was turning out to be a really well done project until one of the wooden support pieces split.  I had already primed it and applied one coat of the final color when this happened, so now I have to re-cut a support, prime it, and attach it to the top deck, then put a first coat on it...what a ( Read more... )

Cutting the lawn has been exhausting this spring. I don't know how many hours I've put into just cutting... maybe 20? I'll be glad when the grass is burnt and withering come July.

Though, I also enjoy doing it. It's good sweaty work and I listen to audio lectures and things on my mp3 player.

What is this 'mobile sandbox'?

a mobile sandbox is a sandbox on wheels so that we can move it out of the sun for the nephew, as he is somehow paler than I. It is also nice to have it inside so that the neighborhood animals don't use it as a giant litter box, but that could be accomplished with a lid, so the main reason is to move it around...
i am building a wooden platform with industrial strength casters, and then on top of the platform there will be a kiddie pool filled with sand...i am proud of the design...
