Name: Goombario
Game/Series: Paper Mario
Age & Grade Level: Freshman, 14
Personality: Goombario is an energetic young Goomba boy, and is generally a happy person. However, he's also a bit of a sarcastic whiner, and won't hesitate to complain if displeased. These complaints can range from simple off-hand remarks to non-stop bitching and moaning, depending on how bad he perceives the situation. Even when he's satisfied, he's not above a quip if he thinks the subject's not listening. He's also known to fanboy over people (especially Mario), and may get a crush on a girl he thinks is very pretty. On top of all that is his know-it-all behavior; this is actually backed up by a vast knowledge of the world around him. Goombario's more than willing to use his head -- figuratively or otherwise -- to gain the advantage in a fight.
Backstory: Goombario was born in tiny little Goomba Village, to a simple family: A grandmother, grandfather, both parents, and little sister. He grew up listening to the stories of his grandfather, Goompa, who traveled around in his youth. This planted the seed for Goombario's taste for adventure, and Goompa became his second-greatest idol. The greatest was none other than the super-famous Mario (myth has it that Goombario and his sister Goombaria were named after him, but that was merely coincidence, at least in this AU, as comparison of ages quickly reveals). So imagine this little fanboy's reaction when Mario was found unconscious in a clearing near their house.
Goombario learned of Peach's latest plight, and Goompa encouraged him to accompany Mario on his journey. Goombario thus became the first ally in the quest to save the Star Spirits and Star Rod. He gave invaluable advice -- whether for fighting, solving puzzles, or what the best course of action in a gross sewer was (the answer according to him is get out immediately, by the way) -- throughout the adventure, and in the end was heralded as a hero alongside Mario and the other seven allies. Since then, Goombario's been working on becoming stronger, trying to make a name for himself. As he browsed through high school choices, he learned of Sumabura's focus on fighting, and after much coaxing towards his family, was allowed to attend.
Note: He did not originally know Mario was attending the same school. Upon learning this, he was already settled down. Fanboygasm ensued.
Anything Else?: Gijinka form and regular form are used about equally, depending on the situation. His human form is preferred a lot even in casual situations, though, due to the massive benefits. Like, you know. Arms. Oddly enough, though, he's more comfortable fighting as a Goomba. Likely, this is something that'll change over the next year or so.
