Arabic language swear word(s)....

Okay, I'm needing a couple of pretty filthy swears in Arabic. This is for a fic set in the far future so actually differentiating between dialects isn't all that important, as a bit of blurring has occurred. (People don't really identify as to 'country' anymore, but planet/colony, star system, ship, or space station

I'll try to answer your question. Most Arabs are "clan-ish" or belong to tribes. I'd think even in a space age, they'd still be affiliated with their tribe. Sort of Tyr in the Andromeda TV series. As far as I can tell, the swear words on that site are in Arabic slang. Most Arabs would understand the insult but it seems to be mostly in Egyptian Arabic. The translation is approximate and not really accurate. Some words are serious insults while others say the person is a sinner.

Bear in mind that Arabic is not like English. The person would have to be speaking about a subject then pick a curse that is relevant to what he is accusing the other party of. You need a bit of context. It's not like English where any 4 letter word can be used as expletive.

I have a soldier (a woman, if it makes a difference), and the Sergeant is doing the 'everybody up, out of bed, lets go, isn't it a glorious day you lazy bastards!' kind of thing and she just calls him something nasty as she's dragging out of bed.

Any suggestions from that list? Or anywhere else? My biggest 'need' is that i need it in Latin rather than in Arabic script.

This person has no tribe, as she is a criminal who got a 'join the military or go to prison for life' kind of deal.

I have a hard time imagining a woman of Arab descent in the army and only recently in some Arab countries have some women joined the police force. I think you need to make your character not a criminal exactly, but either someone's bastard child and thus illegitimate or has been exiled from her tribe for some reason.

Pick something mild related to dogs from that swear list. Cultural fact: Islamic society has a taboo against dogs and as such few Muslims/Arabs have dogs as pets. Even those who do own dogs keep them outside of the house for fear of "being dirty". Hence a lot of insults being related to dogs and animals in Arabic.

So yes, you can use the words on that page. It's better to place them at the beginning of you sentence or at the end to make it sound like how people really fight in Arabic^^

Most of the spelling is all right. I'm a translator by profession so I'm likely being more careful than normal people about this issue.

Okay, that's cool. I never expect perfection from websites. I'm going to go with Yebnen kelp which it says means 'son of a dog' . Though elsewhere it says 'dog' is 'kelb'. So should that be 'Yebnen kelb', or does it change when you add the other word, or is the *other* one wrong?
