And where there is trouble, you will find Buffy.

She hadn't been planning on attending the rally -- she is just trying to get back to her place -- but when she sees what it's about, and for who she sticks around. And she doesn't necessarily like what she sees.

Vampire support. Right. Because supporting violent killing machines never lead to any kind of trouble. She doesn't know why she sticks around, she's sure she has a reason, but by the time she is frustrated enough to leave, the anti-group is making their appearance and starting to cause their own amount of trouble. And Buffy can't really say she's happy about that fact.

Block her way out, and she will go through you, if necessary. Or attack someone, and hero instincts might kick in. Either way, she has a feeling things are going to get violent -- and here she was looking forward to a quiet evening alone.

There are hundreds of people on the square. Most of them are still busy listening to speeches or talking amongst themselves but more and more are starting to pay attention to the counter-protest, and some of them are getting loud.

Soon, there is pushing and shoving. A bottle flies through the air and connects with a young man's head, knocking him down. No one seems claim immediate responsibility for the poor fellow as the crowd pushes ever on, angrier and angrier as more improvised missiles fly through the air.

Buffy sees the guy go down, and she's cutting across the crowd to where he fell. She pauses for a moment, one arm coming up to shield herself from the barrage of missiles, and then dropping down to her knees.

Her fingers go to his neck for a pulse, before starting to look at the head wound to make sure he isn't bleeding too much.

Oh he's got to be alive, there is a pulse and everything. Which, for this crowd, has to be a plus. He's not even knocked out properly; eyelids keep trying to stay open though he has a hard time focusing on anything. Some blood is welling up where the skin split from the impact, but he's at bigger risk of getting trampled or kicked as the crowd keeps pressing in. People are getting rowdier, and rapidly so. Apparently no one appreciates having things thrown at them.

Buffy doesn't blame them in that respect. Having things thrown at you is never fun. But bleeding at a vamp rally is still a Not Good thing, and she needs to get this guy out of here.

"Come on," she sighs as she gets ready to haul him to his feet and get him out of the way of the trampling people. "Let's get you out of here."

The young gentleman makes a pained noise in the back of his throat and first struggles to get away from his saving angle. That is until someone steps on his hand. He yelps and grasp on to Buffy's arm (or shoulder, anything he can reach, really) while pulling his injured hand close, prepared to accept some help. He stares at her, wide-eyed, world swimming back into focus. "Who're you?"

"I'm Buffy." She hauls him up, wrapping an arm around her shoulders as she takes his weight. She's glancing around, trying to dodge the other projectiles and get them moving. "And we need cover. Come on."

She's heading to a small space between buildings, something that might deflect the flying projectiles long enough to keep them from doing any more damage.
