I love this vid! Great song choice and editing for motion. I watched it cause of the song choice, but got so much more. There's the pure pleasure of just identifying all (most) of the source as it moves so quickly. Then there's the variety of meanings of "modern love." I thought about a lot of things while watching. Firstly, it shows cultural representations of "modern love" through film and TV with an emphasis on well-known Rom-Coms, but it also talks about the "modern love" of fan and media text. I felt like I knew the vidder, even though I don't, because it was like watching my own life in a way. There also seemed to be a subtle emphasis on Christian Bale and I couldn't even identify all those sources. He was definitely there more than any other actor, but in many different roles. So there's another kind of "modern love." Fan and celebrity. Just some thoughts. I'll probably watch it a few more times, but that's my first ( ... )

Thank you so very, very much for this wonderfully detailed response. I honestly cannot tell you how much your thoughts and observations mean to me. I am so pleased you took the time to watch, and I am beyond flattered you were able to take so much from the viewing experience. To hear your take and interpretations on the song title in relationship to the vid is just incredibly touching--and it is delightful to hear that you as a viewer picked up on so many of the details I wove into the vid.

Thanks for taking the time to share this comment with me. I appreciate it SO much! :)
