Min, in the middle of all the brouhaha with Remus and Severus, and speaking of which, what on earth has gotten into them anyway? I cannot believe they're chasing after Luna Lovegood!

Anyway, during all that, Hermione took exception to what I said about the witches needing to be careful, and she seems to be saying that they've not been treated Read more... )

Oh, Molly, they aren't. It's all just ridiculous rumour that has got somewhat out of hand. You know how students are.

I have been following the discussion, it is very interesting. I certainly hope that isn't what Hermione is implying. I've always tried to treat everyone fairly regardless of gender or background.

But, Severus went after Remus with an axe? I know those two have never got along, but Remus is always so ridiculously careful not to offend anybody, and Severus never loses his temper, even when Moody as baiting him!

I know you have, and I hate to see Hermione and Luna think otherwise. I wonder what makes them think so? They're both intelligent, and don't usually go off on wild goose chases.

Hagrid was hardly accurate with his reporting, Molly.

Severus was chopping wood. He was not threatening Remus, he just happened to be holding an axe when the altercation occurred.
I do not have all of the details, both are being rather reticent to let me have the details. But I can tell you that they most certainly not arguing over the attentions of Miss Lovegood.

I agree, we have many bright young witches who have all been given plenty of opportunity to achieve recognition through their academic studies.
When I was a young witch things were very different. If they had been born into that era, they might have something to complain about.
These days, women are taken seriously.

As to giving you the details, there's nothing that would make my boys unite faster than the possibility that I'd know the facts about whatever it was. Keep pushing at them, and they might work together out of sheer contrariness.

We are taken seriously. But you know, Min, that doesn't mean that any of us can do whatever fancy crosses our minds without some sort of something happening after. We learn in Charms and Potions that a small change can have huge results, and the same thing is true between people.
