Okay, I'm just as pissed about the news out of Maine last night as everyone else. And mostly indifferent to the rest of the news. Though, I'm glad to see that Virginia finally elected a governor that will put an end once and for all to those problems caused by working women and "fornicators". Go, you guys

"Crowing", and "grasping at straws" are, I think, an unfair characterization. I am amused that, despite the fact the two governor's races that won owe at least a fair bit of that success to keeping Palin et al at arm's length (coupled with two abysmal campigns on the part of the Dems on those races- both Corzine and Deeds fucked up their campaigns big-time), and the fact that Palin et al managed to lose their pet race -a race that would otherwise had been a lock for the republican- that the take-away message amongst the far-right is that they should push the party even further to the right. It's a conclusion that does not follow from the evidence. Republicans were absolutely the net winners last night, but the far-right of the party really wasn't
