Adventures on or near the Channel Cat

Aug 22, 2006 08:04

Set the way back machine for long, long ago.  Sunday, I believe.  I hopped aboard my trusty 53in. inseam bicycle, too tall for mortal man, and began the ride to Empire Park.  Somewhere in this park, Ness and Tater were frolicking, and I, being a fat bastard of laziness, mere moments before flying to Oz for lahve and lahve, needed the exercise.  ( Read more... )

Holy cow
I love nearly all of this.
The duck I can do without, but I like to see the clarity of the photo, particularly of the water around the bird.
Dammit man.
Taking pictures is fun.

I think the mark sculpture is called the Spirit of Place (or something), I walk by it when I take my walks.

I hate it.
I love the Zany Vine shot the best. Make that go to cd.

Yeah, the bird photo sucks... I only kept it for the water. (hmm, maybe I should give it the axe, it's nearly as boring as ducks) I'm glad you like the others.

Mm, I love the texture and shape of that sculpture, good times, great old ones.

Gorgeous photography, as per usual. I love the angle on that first under-the-bridge shot.

And why in the world would you lock this post? You must release it and share it with the world!

Ah, thank you!

shucks...

Well, I'll unlock it, I guess I was a bit worried about spamming the LJ world with too many photo posts.

You are entirely too self-conscious about that. You must be self-involved and carefree in your posting, like me and Vanessa.

They called out to me with much love, and I was kicking myself for not having a camera when I saw them.

So I'm half crazed with the thought of taking pictures of that torn down Harvester plant now. Nothing but junk and huge unfathomable machines as far as the eye can see, all being slowly overtaked by weeds and grass... just bloody perfect. So, yeah, that's the next project...

Have you thought of taking pics late at night with a tripod and a aperture setting done by hand? I did it with my crumby camera and it was really fun. Some things are moving and some aren't and it makes for a wonderful challenge.

PS do you know what's wrong with my item? If you can't do anything with it das ok I burned all ym files to CD and have them on the other machine now.

What would you charge me to exchange a harddrive for a bigger one? I'm going to price BIG harddrives on newegg and wanna swap out my little harddrive for a HUGE one and use the two reasonably sized ones for back-up. Also having all these harddrives caused me immeasurable issues last time do you think you could swing it w/o my life crashing all around me again? :) I can't really afford to do anything jsut yet but I REALLY have space issues creeping up on me.

Ok, just tested the power adapter, and it checks in at a staggering 0vdc. It's dead, as I'd thought. So what you're looking for is a 9 (or up to 12) volt DC power adapter of 1000ma or 1 amp. I just looked in our storage room, and the closest thing we've got is 7vdc, so I'll bring that home and we can see if it'll work. (my guess though is that is not quite enough voltage to make the internets work, what with all the lights and numbers)

Exchanging a hard drive should be super easy, we could probably do that in all of 5 minutes. I'm running out of space -fast- with all the pics I've been taking. Each day of shooting ends up being about .3 gigs. Yikes!

I haven't done too much with long exposures, save some glow stick dance moves perpatrated by Dave. Heh. Oo, actually, I did do a few over the river looking at the Centenial bridge, those turned out pretty fabu.

Are you sure you're not thinking of Metal Gear Solid? You know, that game where you hide in a box and smoke cigarettes?

[laughing] ahh, good times.
