I enjoyed Washington Square...the plants, musicians, chess players...

I think one of the articles said that there were at least 5,000 people buried under there... many from a cholera plague.

Do the chess and Scrabble players bring their own equipment--or is it available there? The two chess sets look exactly alike.

I'm old enough to remember "beatnicks" from the late 50s. Maynard G. Krebs--was he on Dobie Gillis?

I'm not sure Marge. They may belong to the park.

I remember the Beatniks too! Or at least I heard about them.

I honestly think that cities have their own special beauty. BUT I have no desire to live in one (again)either.

I just adore NY, and I loved looking through your photos.

Interesting about that steel building. I recognize the reddish color of Picasso's baboon :-)

Such a nice park. I like the pictures. I should have liked it to be there and feed the birds and the squirrels. The squirrels looks tame. Here we only have wild squirrels and they are afraid to come near people.

Not only that, but you would have liked the *wolf* park! (Dog playing area)

The squirrels and birds were very tame after years of being fed by people I am sure. They were very cute!

I actually was thinking of you when I was taking those pictures!
