There was some thing about it on Discovery channel or something last year. It mounted some pretty convincing evidence, but I'm of the opinion that you can build an argument for anything if you try hard enough.

I feel like it's important to appreciate each day like it's our last, no matter what. Forget 2012. The world could end tomorrow, right?

According to the Myan calendar, that's when the world will end. Of course, we're also waiting for the 2nd coming of Christ, the Apocolypse, and a few other disasters depending on what ancient history you wish to follow.

I believe there may be a catastrophic event, but only because the world seems to be building towards one. I don't think the world will end.

Everytime I hear about this, I get anxiety. Me and my bf actually talked about it yesterday and he told me about some people doing a calendar type thing and it ends in 2012.. i've heard about it before but was able to flip the channel.. I can't just flip the boyfriend..

Its going to happen one day. I'm just hoping its not my lifetime. I find myself wanting to fix a lot of things just in case..

I started reading the Left Behind book series and couldn't make it past the 2nd book because my anxiety was getting so bad

Me too, it totally freaks me out.
The calender thing is nothing to worry about. That was the Mayan calender but when their calender ends, it just resets itself, like the odometer in your car. So everyone talking about that hasn't done their research properly. They are just trying to scare people. My Dad studied that sort of thing when he did Science at Uni, plus there are some pretty good websites that explain how it works properly. But that's not what is freaking me out. Im more scared about the 'Planet X' that NASA has found which is apparently going to line up with us, the sun and our moon and completely wipe everything out. Don't know how true this is either, but it still scares the crap out of me because of my beautiful children :-(
Haven't heard of those books, do you know who the author is and where I could find them?

Hey Taysha!

I have been lurking through your journal, reading your birth stories and looking at old pics & I AGREE I AM SOOOO FREAkeD OUT BY THIS STUFF! I am most worried about the collision too and heard about that as well. I did believe Y2k was BS but planetary catastrophes are really scary. I do know that Nasa has developed stuff to combat meteors etc, but I don't know if that would even work with the predicted size. Worse still, in a book I read about the history of everything, planets etc, there was mention that most species are wiped out and made extinct around the same time, like in millions of years or something, can't recall the stat. But that is where we are now, so we are 'due' to go extinct, that plus global warming it really scares you. Particularly imagining the horrors for your children to face most!!!

*HUGS*
