What can I say? It's the Catholic in me. They are big on making sure you feel guilt and atone for your "sin".

You can't refuse penance, by the way. I'll ask for divine help to think of a suitable atonement, commensurate with your LJ crime.

The catholic church has the whole "punishment" thing down to a fine art! The husband is a lapsed catholic but still rmembers all the stuff he was forced to recite.....and all the punishments!
