I don't see how people have difficulties distinguishing between Pokota's voice and that of GACKT. At the same time, I can't deny that Pokota has something that makes his voice a bit different. Not sure if it is OK to generalize, but his voice fits into the VK scene. If you showed me a song by him, I would very likely guess that he was a VK musician ( Read more... )

I can hear the similarities there and also I wouldn't say his singing skills are cold either. Since this is live you can see that he's giving it, maybe, his all. But it's just not as passionate as GACKT's voice. Also it's lacks the depth or richness that GACKT's voice has. Definitely not as skilled in composition though.

GACKT just has that way of composing the melody (is this the right term) for his vocals. I don't know if I can describe this but you know when you hear a part of a song, say the vocals or instrument solo from any group, and you are following along and it's like they just don't give it a natural finish. Does that make sense? But GACKT does that with all of his songs. It's almost a relief. Or is it a release? Soo comforting. *sigh*

You mean to the melody? Yeah I think so. In the second vid, he has a really nice stage presence. Not as masculine as GACKT but fun.

I think he is obiously copying Gackt's style there.
It reminded me of G's MC's a LOT. Too much resemblance to be a coincidence..

Sweet guy. I don't think he resembles G's voice too much but his voice is very nice, that's for sure. So next time I need some good voice songing nice music in Japanese I'll search for him. ;)

WATCHED. Oh he'd have better not tried that song *lol* it's far too hard to be sung properly. XDDDD But funny vid.

i don't see either why people would have difficulties distinguishing between their voices
i like his voice, but Gackt's is undoubtedly deeper
