Michelle, I would honestly voice this to your bosses boss (owner or something). They aren't doing right by you, and you're being punished for being dependable. Sometimes lower management can really take advantage of hourly just because it's covering their ass and they're avoiding a headache, but it sounds like you're being taken advantage of. I did some time in graveyard security, and anyone who suits up and shows up is treated like the messiah, but they have to respect your needs to be treated like the phenomenal asset you are.

the owner of our company, tim, wouldn't listen. he'd register the complaint and then nothing would be done about it, because god forbid they hire more people as floaters to cover days off for people who actually need it.

our boss, danielle, basically has tim wrapped around her finger anyway. talking to him wouldn't matter. i know people that have worked for this company for 10+ years, and still can't call in sick.
