Well, I ended up taking the pill. Though with hind sight being 20/20 I probably could have done it without. I did end up sleeping for 7 hours after wards, so that was nice

I'm glad everything went well. There's nothing wrong with a little medicated sleep either. ;-)
About the cortisone shot though ... that's not a cure, that's just an anti-inflammatory. Do they really think that it will permanently resolve your issues? Or are they recommending surgery also?
You're correct it it isn't a cure. Right now, it's just getting me to the point where I'm not in pain all the time. The hope is that by reducing the inflammation that the pain will subside and possibly the bulge will at least be reduced.
They have mentioned surgery and implanting a Titanium implant, but for now I'm just hoping that the shot will keep the pain in check and I can build up some core strength around my bulge so that the pressure is not on my spine as much.
Or in other words, I may actually try this who exercise thing that everyone is talking about ;)
