I had to go to the DMV today at lunch. It was the first time in a very long time that I've been there

Did you seriously have to wait another 500 people?

I ended up waiting about 40 minutes or so. What I soon found out was that the numbers that they hand out were not in numerical order. They didn't appear to be random numbers either.

I think that the first number might be an indication of why you are there. For example, I was there to have the title on one of my vehicles changed. If I am correct, that it why I got a number that started with 8.

I'm not sure that's the case, but I was grateful that I didn't have to wait in line behind 500 people.
