I guess... contemplative...

I know that I am not one for posting. I see so many others that post all sorts of things here. They lock somethings to just friends or maybe specific friends. I have started to be more active in livejournal, partially because it is summer and I have time for this thing. Something I can not figure out about this style of communication is the ( Read more... )

Thank you, that is very helpful. That also means I have to learn this "lj Cut" tag thingy. But still you response was very helpful. I will learn the cut tag so next time I ramble as such I can cut it down to a line and not take up so much screne room.

Here is to learning something new. :)

"I think there's an anything goes TMI policy, but that there's a netiquette there. If there's anything that you question as TMI (or that's just long), slap it under a "lj cut" with a warning with what the content will consist of. This way, anyone who would be uncomfortable with the content will be relatively safe, and you can still discuss issues you're concerned with."

I would say that's the best answer to your question. If you're ok with typing it out and posting it, then it's not TMI. At the same time however, an LJ Cut gives everyone the oppotunity to skip it if it's not something they're interested in reading about (TMI or not).

Well, I can tell you how I judge what is TMI. If it's something really personal, I tend to adjust it so I can control who sees it (if that makes any sense) and that makes it easier to open up, at least for me. If I leave the post vague I either wait to see if people want to know more, because i figure if they care that much they will ask to know more. That's just how I look at it though. There's so many different ways to go about it. I hope that helped. Can't sleep again, so I'm kind of rambling, I apologize for that.

Apology not accepted. There is no reason for an apology. That does help. Any person veiw of Livejournal can help with this concept. So thank you, and no I still will not accept the unneccesary apology. :-)

Well, you should know my answer to all that - nothing, but I believe in filters. I talk about our torrid love affairs and how hot you are, and about work and the animals, and religion and emotions and all that crap, but it's also for ME. This is my journal now, I don't really write anymore. Maybe that's bad, but it's just easier for me, I type faster and I can always read it ;).

I write so I don't forget. I write to stay connected. I write to share with my friends, to get advice, and sometimes to just let it all out, even if it's to the nameless void.

BTW, gathering quite the little fan club, are we ;).

I post sporadically - sometimes I open up, but not too often.
TMI - no such thing, if you are comfortable with it, post it. If it is too much for your reading public - they will skim it or decide to skip it. I will warn you however, the "drama" spills onto LJ regularly - so know that a lot of LJ posts are just to stir up or add spice to existing drama.

Don't worry - I am not easily offended, and since you mostly see me in passing I totally understand
