Baby Hans

I have one grandma lovin'  baby.  This morning while at work, Hans and I were having some mommy and baby cuddle time when I saw my mom pull up.  I told Hans, "Look!  Grandma is here."  He hopped out my lap and met my mom at the door.  I was ignored for the next hour while he spent the time telling Grandma tales of abuse and neglect.  I am so glad  ( Read more... )

grandparents rule. I didn't get to spend much time with my dad's side, but I'm very grateful for my mom's side, and getting to spend time with them.

It's great that Hans gets to see him Grandma so often! Alex gets to spend time with Danny's Mom 3 to 4 times a week, so that is good. She will teach him to grow things!

Back when I was working at Bookstop, we had a deluge of those sqwaky-books with the buttons that make noise. Each button had an icon that you would find in the text and it would play a noise: a car horn, a door slam, a cat meow, etc.

I remember a child randomly pressing the buttons back in my section and a grandparent saying, "No no, honey. Not now. I'll buy it for you, but you have to wait until you go back to your mommy's to play with it." Such is the price of free babysitting, I suppose.

As for dead friends, one of mine shows up in dreams sometimes. Last time he swung by, we just read comics and listened to CDs. I don't remember us having any meaningful conversation. I still post messages for him from time to time, just in case.

I don't dream about Dave but I have dreamed about Joe and in the dream he is in the hospital with out the breathing tube telling everyone goodbye. I wish Dave would come to my dreams so I know he is okay.

My late grandmother sometimes whispers "don't do that, son" in my ear when I'm tempted to do wrong. These experiences are sometimes accompanied by the smell of Cashmere Bouquet, which she wore. It could be her, speaking to me from Heaven.

Of course, it could be just my poor, addled brain as well - but as long as she is telling me to do good and avoid evil, I see no harm in believing it's her.

I know there are moments when I feel by Grandpa guiding me from harm.
