That's a black-headed gull I think. (Their black heads turn white in the winter)

Ah, the perils of growing up in a seaside town with one local museum...

Really! oh thankyou hon i didn't know that they did that, i just thought that the markings were so pretty. I rather have your perils not the perils of growing up in Londinium and Essex only seeing dirty birds grins ooo er!

It's a black-headed gull, in its winter plumage. In summer the head will turn completely black.

Oh wow and you know i see loads of them in the summer never thought they looked any different in Winter but i never gotta look up close ! your a star i am going to save that rspb site to my favs. Thankyou so much xxx
