Waha, I was wrong, of course! Still, "tchi" isn't a symbol. "Tamago" means "egg" but 'tchi' must have been incorperated by Americans.

Maybe it's Tamagocchi (i.e. たまごっち) in Japanese, and since there's supposed to be a pause for double-consonants, the English translators used a T for that? -shrug-

XD I remember the days when I had a Tamagotchi, had no idea they still made those things. Just goes to show todays generation is ungrateful (every generation claims the one after them is the worst)
