You're right. I agree with you on that. What happened in New Orleans was awful, but they'll eventually rebuild their lives.. Insurance will help..and they have people who will help (obviously). Other people, such as the homeless people here in Lawrence, seem to have no place to go other than the shelters and the Leo Center. So yeah.. You're right.

um, i don't even know what to say

honestly, i don't think you can really compare the two. like ^^ said, insurance will help, but people still lost lots of important memories (pictures, etc). Furthermore, I'm sure that lots of families in NOLA don't even have insurance.

thank you for the ps kitten =)

now then, i think you can compare the two, if just a bit. bare with me on this, i'm not trying to sound evil, just a bit objective over time. you bring up insurance and memories, and i'll explore this: homeless people never had the things to get insured, never had the pictures to lose. at least the new orleans people had and most likely will have more than the homeless ever did or ever will. but the homeless are always this way and worse off than the new orleans people. the media points to the new orleans disaster because it is so visual and so many influential people can be concerned, but homeless people are far worse off every day, they just aren't unusually so therefore it doesn't make headlines or make people give to red cross.

like i said, i'm not trying to be mean, but if you look at this objectively, this is what you get.

look, they are both bad. i think it's dumb to argue about which one is worse =(

is it better to have nothing at all or to lose a lot?
