'Built originally by William Napier in 1854. Sultan Abu Bakar of Johor, who was given the now overgrown estate in exchange for his land at Telok Blangah, rebuilt the house in 1892. It was designed by J.F.A. McNair, Colonial Engineer, Surveyor-General, and used by Malcolm MacDonald when he was Commissioner-General for Southeast Asia ( Read more... )
