I should be studying for a German test I have tomorrow, but I just noticed something that upset me so badly that I won't be able to concentrate until I get it out of my system.
I think I read somewhere that food producers are allowed (like, legally) to claim that a product is "fat free" if the fat content is less than 1g per serving. Sounds reasonable to me, since there's a little fat in pretty much everything.
Yeah, it would just make sense if they ammended the rule so that if the whole serving is less than 1g, the fact that there's less than 1g of fat can't be advertised as meaning the product is "fat free", you know? It's pretty ridiculous that, with the current regulations, a product that's 100% fat can be advertised as "fat free" if the recommended serving size is small enough.

Really though, it's kind of ridiculous that they would even advertise a cooking oil being "fat-free". That's like having a word-free dictionary.
