Destination.: Entertainment Earth

My new Entertainment Earth came in the mail  today. So I thought I'd talk about that to get things started.

First off: Who in the flying fig newtons wants a Talking Tina Bobblehead? She's EVIL! The only way that thing could be scarier is if they made it talk.

The Martha Jones jacket looks good...for three-hundred dollars. I don't like the new Sonic Screwdriver. It's just so...brass. They have a release of the  vehicle Voltron. I didn't realize that version was popular--at all.

They'ver released a replica of the Doctor's Mobile Emitter. No, not that one. Yeah--Picardo's Doctor. The exposed circuitry looks a little fake--but the rest is just nice. They have a PADD too. The only way i would pay a hundred dollars for it is if it were an actual computer.

Stargate coasters. :)

I'm going to sound really naive here. I had great hopes for the Ame Comi line that DC has been making. They had a great opportunity to shocase their characters in whole new style. But/most of them have had a couple things  in common. Most have been women. And they've all been hypersexualized. It's sculpted porn. I hate it when people make statues like that, and I hate that DC has entered into that category..

This most recent statue is the worst  offender. The statue is of Natasha Irons, Steel. Her schitck, for anyone who doesn't know, is that she wears a sort of power armor. Like Iron Man, or her Father, (the other)Steel. Her costume is a Midriff bearing one-piece halter...thing  with boots and a  glove. All of this is supposed to be super technological armor. She has the superman logo right above her crotch, and she seems to be holding a giant hammer on her bare shoulders.

WHAT?

Stupid stupid stupid. That is all.

Now for the important stuff.  Transformers!! Badum badum badum!!

The new figures from  Generations made an appearance. Thrust looks fine a solid looking toy. His Jet mode is a nice looking VOTL, and his robot mode looks fairly standard.

Drift looks neat. Exciting racer, but his sword is as tall as he is. They really should have made that shorter. From the picture, I can't tell if it stows well or not.

War for Cybertron Optimus and Bumblebee. I like them. Solid tributes to their G1 counterparts. Bumblebee is a good mix of high tech with Beetle. He looks like Speed Buggy merged with the Lovebug and went through about three hundred years of  upgrades.

Optimus looks a lot like his War Within version, but it fits together better and is smoother. They both look high tech, but WFC Optimus looks more like Future-tech. The Robot modes are both good and look fairly pose-able. Though I have to wonder at the kibble on Prime's legs.

This Bumblebee is ion par with Movie BB. The vehicle mode is ten times cooler, but...his head doesn't fit well with the style of the body--classic head it may be..and he needs more space in the belly so that he doesn't look top heavy.

His arms, look weird. His front wheels are on his forearms. Standard. But they're so massive that they make his arms look chunky. I can understand the need for arm guards. But I like How movie BB did it better, using his half of the roof for each arm.

They have a new voyager size toy. It's supposed to be Banzai-tron. and it works for Banzai Tron.  But with the Armour they give him and the sword he uses. He looks more like Bludgeon. http://www.entertainmentearth.com/prodinfo.asp?number=HT19821

'Nuff said.
