"You mean my centenarian girlfriend who secretly runs an underground facility for abnormal creatures that may or may not be a danger to humans depending on the day?"
"Yes, that," Helen answers ruefully.
"Not for a moment." She kisses Helen again, teeth nipping gently at the older woman's bottom lip. "I worked with deadly viruses for years before you came along, Helen. The slightest accident and I could have not only killed myself but a sizable chunk of the human population. I infected myself with a dormant strain of the most deadly virus known to mankind and used nitroglycerin to transfer samples. It's not like I'm a shrinking violet. Besides," Charlotte says, brushing her hair behind her ear, "I'm in love with you. It would be highly counter-productive to leave now when you're about to admit you're in love with me too."
