Hmm. Shows that have at some point or another really touched me:

*Les Miserables
*Our Town
*Death of a Salesman
*Rent
*Avenue Q
*Into the Woods

I think my favorite kind of shows are comedies. Comedies intelligent premises, comedies with sad stuff mixed in, comedies with scary stuff mixed in. Take anything, add comedy and I'll line right up for it.

I agree with Bryan. Even some of my favorite dramatic movies, I don't really want to watch over and over again...they're wonderful, but once every few years is enough. But the intelligent comedies...I can't get enough.

Also, I know this isn't a type of show, but I've noticed what a difference the friendships make to me. That's the one thing that ties all my favorites. to use movies as an example...I absolutely love Braveheart, but I don't think I would as much if it wasn't for the relationships between William Wallace and his buddies. And I recently saw 4 Brothers...I'm not usually into movies like that, but because the brothers had those playful moments, I really liked them and wanted them to come out on top.

So I guess, I'd say my favorites are often dramatic works that use comedy and playful relationships to get the audience more emotionally involved.
