An admin assistant at work was cleaning out one of the unused offices today.  Nobody had been using the office for a number of years and it had kind of become a dumping ground for furniture and stuff that people didn't want in their offices any more.  It's not too uncommon to come across some unusual items when cleaning such rooms out ( Read more... )

Is there a brand name anywhere on the long-barrel thingy? What does the funny-shaped lens cap say on it?

Maybe this is an early attempt to combine a DSLR and video camera in one? *chuckles*

I don't recognize it, but just eyeballing it I'd venture to guess that the long housing is a surveillance camera and that the Nikon is remote controlled to take (clear) still images of whatever the person manning the surveillance camera finds useful. --> A custom rig.

Must have something to do with using heavy flash and making the picture have that white out look ...thats my guess anyways.
