Well, to get you thinking more: why then is so much change/growth vital for you? It seems true self-amelioration isn't in the minds of most these days.

Because I accept that my concept of self is not necessarily a completely constant image? Or perhaps I believe that I can and should try to better myself? *Not that I'm always consciously doing that, mind you.) Or maybe because I've chosen to find good and to learn from the situations I've been through.

Why isn't on the mind of most though? Apathy and acceptance are easy. Finding fault in one's self isn't easy to own.
