Back when I thought that LJ was the neatest community I knew, I didn't mind the ads. After all why not let Six Apart make money for a service I valued?

Then LJ Abuse totally blew me off when I reported the porn hate post on _southofnowhere. I was disappointed, but life went on and we got a supermod for the community ( Read more... )

Well, take a look: financial gain logic is making an appearance (I make no promises about common sense or consistency, though).

Neatly explains the inconsistencies in LiveJournal's response to reports of abuse... This may be speculation for all I know, but it does make a lot more sense than the 'innocent error' story LJ is apparently intent on making us believe this was.
