Yep, it's time for a couple photos of the black rescue-kitty. This is him rolling happily on the kitchen mat after a full week of food, rest, and as much grooming as he could tolerate.
He's a big boy! You can see it in his face--maybe he has some Maine Coon in him. And is he ever skinny in the second pic. He's giving me flashbacks to "Scabie Baby," who was as skinny when I took him in. (He wound up looking more like a real cat in two weeks.) This kitty found you just in time.
We seem to have a population of natural Maine Coons in this area. Rum was sired by a wandering tom like this only orange colored, and he is 19 pounds. 0_o So far black kitty is eating (and digesting) well, and feeling good enough now to want to explore everything. Yeah, I figure in another week he ought to be shaping up into looking like a proper kitty. My outdoor crew are all plump as fur seals. :D
KITTY!! <3 *melts* Such a handsome boy! It looks like he has the Maine Coon snowshoe-feet, too. He sounds like such a sweetie, and intelligent too. I'm so glad he found his way to your place, to be properly fed and taken care of.
He's just adorable. When I got home from work today, he wanted to be fed right away (of course), but then he wanted petting/brushing. I plopped him in my lap and used the Zoom groom for a long time, and got off another handful of old winter hair. He doesn't want to hold still for the dematting comb, though. He figures that's an invite to play by flopping on his back and going "grab my tummy, I dare ya!" Not meee. :D
