The framing-in was started yesterday, with the builders working in 103-degree heat. I gave them vitamin water and access to the house so they could get cold water and maybe cool off if they needed to

Yes! Now we go 3D. Framing makes the house, and so will trusses. I want more outside sockets too. Should I ever get an electric lawn mower--or car (a distinct possibility in the next decade), I'll certainly have to have an outlet by the garage. And full-pressure spigots for the garden hose (currently blasting moss off the roof...)
Document everything in loving detail, and not just so we can peek over your shoulder at the progress. Having those details might just be extremely useful in some unknowable way in the future.
It's definitely 3-D now. The trusses are coming and I hope everybody did accurate measurements or this is going to get interesting.
I'm taking lots of pictures as we go along, if nothing else there will be good documentation of what was done in case of future maintenance for whoever inherits the house in the future.
A family/dining/game room. With high-speed internet access so we can RPG real time with our friend and colleague on the East coast. (Heh, we're all a bunch'a computer geeks, our friend has been joining us via webvideo now for a couple months.) We'll put my mom's lovely tile-topped table in there and so we can have a formal dinner, game, sew, and let the grandkids play (and keep an eye on them through doors with glass panes.)
Definitely ask for at least one (and preferabley two) outside power sockets. And I'd ask for an outside tap as well (especially since, with installing a bathroom, they're going to have to do plumbing work anyway). One can never have too many outside power sockets or faucets! (Especially since, no matter how many you put in, they never seem to be placed where you need them...)
Yes, it's shaping up rapidly. I'm amazed at how quickly progress is made at this stage. I'll definitely check with the builder to be sure I'm getting power sockets and outside faucets put in. I don't remember asking for an outside faucet, and the water supply hasn't been put in for one, so we'll have to see how that goes. All these little things we need to remember upfront.
I do have an exterior faucet in the backyard that is branched off from the irrigation system. It is all city water, and perfectly drinkable if needed.
If you've got a tap in the backyard off the irrigation system, then another tap off of the house might not matter so much. I just know from sad personal experience that it's easier to add these things before they've finished with the walls! (Too bad I didn't discover Himring's lack of a backyard tap before that point.)

Woohoo! Framing's exciting! It's kinda neat to be able to see and to see through your walls.
