So, I've received my YHA card, bought all the useful travel things I think I need, half-decided on the text I'm going to focus on for my dissertation, set up Skype so I can talk to the folks back home, received my Certificate of Eligibility for a student visa (this morning!), filled in my visa application form and sent it off

You're not expected to make up your mind, so don't worry. The whole process of going away is designed to make you feel as confused and torn apart as possible, and the entire process is bloody miserable. Try sleeping instead!! Then you can wake up and have a wonderful year!!

Anyway, have a big hug from me, and will see you soon in London, and we are going to have a wonderful day. and forget about goodbyes, because they are wretched, and have lots of happy memories at the end of it. How's that sound for an idea?
