ANZAC Bikkies

Traditionally made on April 25th (ANZAC Day, kinda like your Memorial Day today), but enjoyed anytime of year.

Ingredients
  • 1 cup plain flour
  • 1 cup rolled oats (regular oatmeal) uncooked
  • 1 cup desiccated coconut
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter

Australian and New Zealand Army Corps (ANZAC) Bikkies. These bikkies were made during the First World War and sent to the troops.

Remember, GOLDEN SYRUP, Not corn syrup.

According to Wikipedia, "Speciality stores or those with international sections, such as Wholefoods Market, often stock Lyle's golden syrup from the UK."
