PDAs, Smart phones and the ubiquitous Internet

I started out as a Day Planner user. I went digital with my first PDA, a HP 200LX palm top. I switched to Palm OS devices when I started working at 3Com. That was just after 3Com purchased Palm's parent company and all the geeks there had one.

I was an early adopter of Palm devices -- my first was a 3Com PalmPilot, in fact. From Palm I went to Handspring with the very nifty Springboards, and then back to Palm with the early Treo. I was very satisfied with the Treo, and I had a folding keyboard that could be used to edit MS Word documents. I agree that the Palm OS has an elegance of design which no other desktop application really matched ( ... )

I've been looking at the ASUS EEEPC. If I could fit in a cargo pocket, then it might make a decent PDA replacement. A bit big, but portable since I'm a big fan of pants with cargo pockets. I'm told it is just a bit too big.

Unfortunately, that's true -- it is too big to go in a cargo pocket. 6 1/2 x 9 inches.
