then start with #1, but if you are new to
Pratchett, start with something around
number 10, when they start to gain the
depth he's known for. The first one put
me off him for about five years. If you
feel you must begin with #1, at least
get #2 at the same time and read in rapid
succession, as they are two parts of the
same story. Also, be patient - sometimes
it takes a while for things to coalesce.

Most likely I'll end up getting them in order, on audiobook. If the early books are not as great as the later ones, at the very least it will give me something better to listen to than the Spanish radio that's always blaring in the corner. I mean, I'm kind of working my way through the Master & Commander books, and most of the time I find them a little boring, but I still like listening to them. Depending on the reader. A good reader can make anything awesome.
