Maintenance costs kinda suck IF it breaks, hopefully you got it from a responsible owner and that won't matter.
My neice is now a BMW Sales-Droid (tm) and she bought a 325cs and I was very impressed with the general quality and especially the taught german handling.
It appears there is no way in hell we're getting our Prius this year. The dealer basically said (as we knew) they're not building enough of them and they have no idea if/when they will get the options we want before the '05s arrive in the fall.
The prius is really cool but actually the only thing that sold me was the voice operated gps/dvd/gui/touchscreen navigation system. I may just look into buying one seperately.
The car is immaculate.. not a single thing wrong with it, and the previous owners kept it maintained as well. (Not that it's hard to forget, the car will bitch at you if you don't.) I'm still going to go by the whole "maintain it myself as much as I can" thing though :) mmm, grungy fingernails.
The GPS things are easy to find and have installed.. there's a plethora of people here that'll do it into any car you could want it in. They're not even all that expensive (compared to how much it costs to add one to a new car). It sucks that you're not getting the Prius though; it's a kick-ass little car.
99.9% of the car battle is changing and monitoring the oil on schedule.
The last 0.1% is basically to just "know" your car....you know what I mean? How it sounds, how it feels, the stuff that you can almost sense after you drive it for a few months.
I NEED a jpg of it! oh and what's his/her name? I vote for "Benny Beemer"
yeah.. I was quite attuned to the creaks and groans the Dynasty used to make (around one corner the tires would *always* chirp in a specific pattern). I'm already starting to become comfortable in the new one.
Pictures will be forthcoming once I get a new cable modem :) I haven't decided on a name yet tho.. that one's actually kinda fitting
