calling it a christmas tree isnt disrespecting other religions... other religions don't even use a fucking tree... there's no kwanzaa tree or chanukah tree, only a christmas tree.

i've got nothing against saying happy holidays though... since new year's is a holiday, too.

i think happy hoildays is GAY! i should be able to celebrate and say whatever holiday I want to celebrate, i mean what the heck isnt this America where we have freedom of religion? i dont think im very free if i cant even celebrate a relegious holiday how i want to. and your right no one is giving the minority any crap.
and whats this stupid new thing that they were trying to pass saying we cant put up a baby jesus in a manger. now that is totally stupid.
I dont see anyone giving the Arabic people any crap. We have to live and see them wearing thier head pieces and we respect that as their religous thing. so why the heck cant i say merry christmas.
i say screw it i say merry christmas anyway...and if they have a problem then it their problem

completely agree mur... it was fun debating with zapalski on something i actually care about.

i do not see, in any way, how it is infringing upon one's rights by saying "Merry Christmas." RIDICULOUS!

say what you want. if you celebrate christmas say "merry christmas" if you celebrate hanakuh, say "happy hanakuh". its as simple as that. the teacher saying you can't say that is an infringment upon your rights, not really the rights of others.

no there was no infriging of rights when the teacher said that too me, he was really "just saying it", he was not yelling or anything. i should have clarified that

I agree with you Mike. Christmas is much more important to Christians than chanukah is to a jew. I would know I have three of them living in my house.
