Why I need you to vote Obama

I wrote a half-way intelligent argument as to why I desperately need undecided and uninterested American voters to vote for Barak Obama in this election, tomorrow, or maybe today by the time I get this up.  But that's not what I wanted to say.
First, I rock.  Really.  I'm good at what I do, I'm fun, I'm friendly, I own a business-we are busy with ( Read more... )

I have to say that I'm a die-hard Obama supporter. Mainly because a vote for Romney is a vote for racism, homophobia, & hatred. He will set this country back at last 50 years, if not 100, & drain it dry before he's been in office for a year. Romney cares about nothing & no one but the 1% of the extremely wealthy -- to him, everyone else in this country is shit ( ... )

thanks, really and honestly. Its nice to know that there is real support out there. I wish marriage wasn't so tied into both American culture and law, it would be great to never have to deal with it. I sort of assume the folks on slash boards/grps are queer friendly, but thank you for being the voice that lets me know that at least in part my assumption is true.

at the end of the day, with all my differences from Obama, the amount of respect with which he treats Michelle makes me believe he is someone who will act on behalf of women, and usually the fate of women is the bellwether to the fate of queers.

and YES! we won. Oh. God. Yes!

I think there are a LOT more people who feel the same way I do, they're just not as vocal about putting their opinions out there. But I tend to have a pretty big mouth -- so I do! Glad I could (hopefully) raise your spirits. :)

Would you believe I literally CRIED when I was surfing late-night tv & found out that Obama had won? It's just been such a long hard campaign, & to know that it's all paid off & that we WON was such a relief!

I think the next four years will bring a lot of positive changes (well, barring the usual RATpublican obstruction, that is). We may not see complete equality for gays in our lifetimes, but it's gratifying to know that we're part of the fight that's moving us towards it. :)
