Rick Who?

*slumps into the livejournal* Oh, what a night. I'm not going to go into details because that'll just leave me fuming again, but it does involve the neighbors next door, acts rational human beings shouldn't ever consider doing (much less at 4 am in the morning), 80's music and pottery. I am not kidding you ( Read more... )

Grrrrrrr I had a whole reply typed up that was lost, bad LJ.

Paul Simon - You Can Call Me Al

I don't know why I love this song so much, but I do. XD "If you'll be my bodyguard, I can be your long lost pal."

Or:

Depeche Mode - Blasphemous Rumours

"I don't want to start any blasphemous rumours but I think that God's got a sick sense of humour and when I die, I expect to find him laughing."
Nice and angsty. >.>

Two really different tunes. I hope one is useful to you!

Also in my original reply I expressed sympathy for your lack of sleep and the hope you would get more in the future. >_>;

XD Okay, I didn't do quite a good job on this drabble as I wished ... but heck, it's a "write it as you go" sort of thing that morphed as it went along. It doesn't say much, and it doesn't make much sense, but well, with the theme blasphemous rumors ... it's sorta the best I could do. XD

Bwahaha! Even if I non-ironically suggest the original below, this version of the video is great.

All I can say is that you ASKED for it! *Growls* I mean, give me a video like that and considering the video game I finished ....

dear god, I can't believe what I'm going to write. XP

Some days, you are bad for my psyche. AND KARMA!

But our princess is in another castle!!! (part 1) murinae June 17 2009, 20:48:16 UTC
Karin supposed that she should be used to the random battles and dungeons that seem to pop up with alarming regularity wherever she and her misfit party roamed. God knew that the last dungeon, what with the half man, half scorpion, with the stinger in a rather highly unfortunate place --

(and yes, it was worth punching Yuri in the ribs for his comment about what came out of which end)

-- should have inured her to any sense of surprise at what might pop out around any given corner, but the newest dungeon had taken things unto a whole new level of wanting to clutch at her head in agitation.

"This is just wrong. I know that Nicolai released the spirits of malice and all," she said as she finished off yet another angelic looking choir boy with a precise stab of her foil. "But this smacks more of tacky than ... you know ... our universe's usual brand of ultimate evil. Something's not right ( ... )

*eyes* I don't think I know any songs that are 80s.. Or if I do, I'm not aware that they're from the 80s..

*hugs* hehe, I was a little to small to enjoy the songs of the eighties too, to be honest, but there's a lot of songs that came out then that are familiar today. XD

I can extend it to the good ol' cheesy nineties, if you still want to participate? *hugs* But yeah right now I'm not at my best ... I need to get warmed up a little more so that's why I'm holding the prompts. T__T Eh well. Sooner or later, I'll write a good one again! X3

Live performance by Laura Branigan

The familiar recorded version, available as download

"If everybody wants you / why isn't anybody callin'?
You don't have to answer / Leave them hangin' on the line
oh-oh-oh, calling Gloria..."

Or:

Bonnie Tyler belts it out at the 1984 Grammys

Downloadable here

"Turn around...every now and then I get a little bit angry and I know I've
got to get out and cry / Turn around...Every now and then I get a little bit terrified but then I see the look in your eyes..."

...My comment could go on for pages. This is my era, yo! Music that stitches my childhood and adolescence together.

I'd be fine with any quotes from the songs, really.

Speaking of 80s, have you seen this? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lj-x9ygQEGA

XD

As for the challenge, how about this favorite of FSTs everywhere: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i-P_zHs2nF4
"Why can't we be ourselves like we were yesterday?"

Hehe, yes, that's a classic eighties tune XD and I'm not surprised it's everyone's favorite FST choice..

I sorta riffed off the title more than the quote, specially since "Bizarre Love Triangle" made my brain come up with a very odd result. T__T I'm not sure if it's actually good ... odd doesn't actually mean original or even readable ... but heck, prompts are supposed to help us go in directions we normally wouldn't. So I'd like to first disclaim that I don't normally see this relationship in this aspect and that it's not my best writing, but well ... it did help me to write! XD *hugs*

Hopefully it won't disappoint too much! :)
