Alrighty. I'm currently in B-Town (Bloomington, IN aka my Dad's hoose). Busy busy times for Erin. Only to get way more interesting on Monday- what with school and work starting up again and all. Feel the joy ooze from my pores (at least I was hoping that was joy... it's not).

Toronto
So. Toronto...Let's get one thing straight right off the bat. I have learned my lesson. Toronto in the 'spring' (winter) is WAY too cold to visit. Funk that. From now Canada = summertime ONLY. From this point on assume it was cold ALL THE TIME. Because it was. We got there in about 8 short hours. (Really, it didn't seem to take that long, then again nothing does when you're half asleep.) Enter = kilometers, liters, and Celcius. We got into town at the wrong exit so we ended up entering on the total wrong end of the longest road in the universe (aka Dundas). It was fun driving all the way down it though. We got to go through the dumpy part of town, as I've been calling it. We were barely awake, driving around a crazy busy street with pedestrians and street cars all around. Needless to say if we had be more awake we would have pissed ourselves. We passed The Lakeview Lunch and I squealed like pig I'm sure. Then we passed the Pourtiguese (wtf someone help with the sp?!) part of the neighborhood, then the asian 18 blocks, and then finally the small stint of the begining of the fancy stuff, only to leave it again to get to our semi-nice hotel.

Day One consisted of Augusta experiencing very tired culture shock, lots of crazy people and the biggest mall I've ever been in. We got lost. Then it was dinner at the hotel restaurant called Casey's Bar & Grill. Enter ordering our first drinks in public. And what does the waitress say? "Indiana, eh?" Oh those silly Canadians. Fun times. (Not that fun.)

Day Two was started after a much needed long night of heavy sleep. (Except for the TV being on all night -_- meh) We then started our familiarization with the subway system. I do love the subway. Fun times, odd people, bad smells. Makes you feel alive...We visited the Royal Ontario Museum, a FCUK (French Connection United Kingdom) store, and some other places I wrote down that I will add in here later. We did a lot of walking (in the cold) and ate at a nice little Thai place for lunch called The Green Mango. Good times. Although it was strange because there was one Green Mango on one side of the street and about a half a block away on the other side of the street there was another one - we ate at the second one. And we had dinner at an Irish pub called Finn MacCool's Irish Pub. Good times majorly. Well ok, the food was good, the atmosphere was nice after they turned on the Celtic stuff, but Augusta and I soon learned we were still not hardcore beer drinkers. Blech. Then a frozen walk home.

Day Three equals the day to be a tourist. I brought my camera and we braved a streetcar to get to The Diner. Sadly it was closed for remodeling or some crap like that so we didn't get to shoot the place up, but we did get some pics of it and under the sign. Fun times. For anyone who is curious, the phone booth as been taken over by a bank-type place. Stupid banks! Then we went to look at the bottom of the CN Tower because going in it would cost $25 and we decided to keep that money. We also had lunch at a money stealing Planet Hollywood (Yeah, that's it! That's the car from uh...Critters.). Then we walked around the 'Entertainment District' of Toronto and froze our asses off before finding an IMAX theater and watching Constantine for a second time. *grin* Fun times. We had dinner at Le Papillion...sort of. It was a nice French place but our garcon was...how you say...a dick? Whatev.

And then there was the ride home...*enter scary scene music* We got through Canada alright and about half of Michigan before we got hit by a stupid snowstorm (in Michigan?! wtf). And thanks to Augusta's crappy almost nonexsistant windshield wiper and awesome freezing on contact roadspray she could barely see anything and had to restort to looking out of my side of the windshield. And then... the streets started turning into ice...We saw cars on the sides of the road everwhere. One car was in a ditch on its side and after skidding over a small patch ourselves Augusta intelligently slowed down from the 70mph speed limit. (Which we were of course not exceeding) After getting through what we had hoped was the worst of it our car slipped (going about 50) and proceeded to swerve and spin and loop right off of the road into a ditch and landing nicely in a fence. After the shock started to pass a nice man came up and asked us if we were ok and needed help and he got the mile marker from us. I called 911 and told her the dilly-yo and she said aight. Then a nice man with a tow truck saw us and helped us out and waited until the sheriff showed up. So that took about an hour off of our trip time and made it go dark. -_- After driving about 35 for another hour the snow got worse and we got annoyed. So we stopped at a Holiday Inn Express (*mini high five*) for the night and left the next stupid morning and got home around 11. Whew.

I'm getting my pics back tomorrow or Monday so look for pics soon!

And now on to Dad's

I left Friday about 3 hours after I got home from Toronto. And I've been relaxing and enjoying my last few days of feeling like a kid again. I love it here and I wish I could live here and be care-free all the time. Jennifer (friend from work) called me last night to see if I had gotten to my Dad's alright and before she hung up she said 'You sound so amazingly happy' and I really am. I needed this. As soon as I got here and Carol (my step-mom) got off work my Dad played every single one of my favorite songs. He was glad I was here too. I also got them to watch Napoleon Dynamite. They liked it. ^_^

Ok.... well its 1.30am and I'm sure my Dad will wake me up at about 9 again. So I should go. I just have to tear myself away from unedited, uncensored Jay and Silent Bob...
