Getting there?

I was invited to Kendra's wedding, which was taking place five hours away by car in Oregon. I declined and sent off a nice gift. I have a car, but I would have needed to arrange for my dog, and it was just too much bother. Plus I would have known only one or two people there. And it was a three day event. And I don't camp, so I would have had the expense of a hotel. The whole weekend would have cost me hundreds of dollars. On the plus side, it was casual dress, but that wasn't enough to outweigh the disadvantages.

Nothing really. We haven't been in much contact since she moved out of my house and I was kind of surprised I was invited except maybe for gift trolling? I asked about bringing my dog to the festivities (one of Kendra's dogs was going to be there and they get along great), but she didn't want my dog there for various legitimate and understandable reasons (no fence, my dog still jumps on people sometimes, Kendra's dad hates pit bulls and has a gun).
