anthrocon a bust

Well its over and the worlds biggest furry con went as dismally as I could have expected. My most anti social self was out this entire con, the events seemed lacking to me and my attempt at tackling my first dealers den left me as an artist, discouraged and my sense of creativity shot. Post-con depression is a very common experience. Remember; if you didn't sell well at this con, there will be other opportunities. RF, for example. Or you could sell prints online, too.

Don't worry that people only looked at a few pages and then moved on. I've seen people do that to newcomers all over AC. Get a name made for yourself, and next year you should sell a lot better.

Look we're all floating around this web making connections with people who we'd probably never speak to in real life. I suffer from horrible social anxieties and whenever I try to go out and meet people (it's usually a lot smaller a gathering than a con, I couldn't even begin to think how I would handle that) it ends in disaster, I feel worse than I did before and completely justified in shutting myself off from the world. That being said... I've been talking to someone about it and I think it's only a matter of time before I can go outside and maybe hang out with people like Zoe Kravitz who have the confidence to wear their dragon suit out on the streets of NY: http://www.itsasickness.com/lounge/zoe-kravitz-obsessed-costumes
