Solstice

Dec 21, 2005 10:07

Woke up this morning to an inch of fresh snow, tree branches delicately clad in white garlands, a heavy fog, and a pink glow in the eastern sky.

The sun will rise above the 45th parallel and spread its tepid light on the citizens of Minneapolis for a mere 7 and a half hours today.

A and I have rediscovered the importance of Christmas lights.

So what are your thoughts on Christmas lights. I think if done well they can really be lovely and certainly add to the festivities. Although I am still a considerably larger fan of real luminaries. But anywhere other than New Mexico (at least in the US) and luminaries would seem silly to me.
