Two Weeks from Japan

The Flower Part (aka '88 Toyota Corolla) needs a new clutch. The mechanic just called and said that they cannot find the rubber transmission mounts in the States. It will take 2 weeks for the parts to be shipped from Japan. This makes me very pleased. My 17 year old car challenges the global market 24 hour supply chain. Yay!

We can't use Fedex? This is about JUST IN TIME! Don't you want to be JUST IN TIME! This wouldn't be happening if you had a really patriotic American Car. Cause if you did....the part would't exist because our transmission's don't got no rubber transmission mounts at all.
You're problem is you and your car are Pinko!
Congratulations.

Haha. Japanese cars are plagued with this consistent problem that Detroit has luckily avoided* for near on 40 decades: Quality! Ha. Nearly 200,000 miles on that car and it gets its first clutch kit.

Driving through rural Minnesota one would not know that the US market share for GM and Ford has shrunk to 23%. I get funny looks because of my hatchbacked shoebox.

*I will grant that Chrysler made some awesome cars under the guidance of Lee Iacocca.

I'm pretty sure the previous owner stated that he had replaced the clutch. At least that's what I recall when he offered to sell it to me.

Of course, I most likely am wrong.

ah, yes, but also keep in mind that he didn't know how to check his own oil (still doesn't, I'm sure). I'm not sure if he would really know.
