Anyway, so might I ask who is the lovely author of this splendid poem? I like the painting too rather much... but I can't place the author of it either... I'm seem to be in a dilemma.

The artist is one of my tip-toppity favorites, the wonderful Frank W. Benson. As for the poem, it was written by Paul Verlaine. :)

Oh indeed! I'm ashamed to say I wasn't familiar with the name Frank W. Benson, but I looked him up, and oh yes his paintings are sooo very lovely! They're exactly the sort of thing I most like: girls in the sunlight with white airy dresses. Ah, don't you just love the early 1900s? And I can't wait to find some more of Paul Verlaine's poetry.
