[Poniko is replacing all of the light bulbs in her room with fresh ones. This is a tedious process because she has many, many lamps and light fixtures, and a slow one because she has to keep the lights on while she does it.

Light bulbs are very serious business. Please do not disturb.

[Upon seeing the girl while passing by, he stops to take a quick look. The quick look turns into an extended one as he studies what she's doing. It appears to be tedious, whatever it is, to say the least, thus he steps in with an air of friendliness.]

Hey, do you need help?

[Poniko looks down at him. She's standing on her toes on a chair to change a bulb in an overhead fixture. She can barely reach it even then.

Although tempted to either refuse or just ignore him, she pauses and glances up at the light above her head, and then back at him. She speaks softly.]

...Yes, please.

All right. You can't reach?

[Hopefully he's taller than her. He approaches the chair she's standing on, looking up and estimating just how easy -- . . . or difficult -- it would be for him to do it in her stead.]

[Her voice is still quiet, but not by any means weak. She steps down from the chair to make room for him. As an afterthought, she adds]

I fell last time.

[There is a few seconds of silence, before the obnoxiously loud young man's head appears around the corner of the doorframe. He watches Pokino with obvious curiosity, before stepping into the room, waving at the little girl--he may be slightly oblivious, but he seems friendly enough.]

Ahhh, hello there little girl! You seem very hard at work!

If you ever need any help, just ask your uncle Kyle~!

[Poniko back steps, looking at this strange person with an expression that is mostly neutral, but partly taken aback and partly indignant.]

...You aren't my uncle.

[No, she's certain she'd have known if he was.]

[Seemingly completely oblivious to her negative response, he continues to ramble away as though she is totally not a complete stranger.]

Ahaha! That's so cute! Of course, i'm not really your uncle!

Say, that contraption of yours--it is mechanical, am I right? Haha! Aren't you lucky, machines are my speciality!

[She looks at the light bulb in her hand. And at the lamp whose bulb she's about to switch it out for. Then she nods. Yes, strictly speaking, she supposed they are mechanical.]

I just have to switch the light bulbs.
