I have wanted to do this for the last couple years. Its the fund raising part that stops me. I hate asking people for money and I totally suck at it. Selling has never been my thing....even hated selling Girl Scout cookies as a kid.

Its the amount they require you to get pledged before you can walk that seriously intimidates me. That's a lot of money. I'm still trying to make up my mind/convince myself I can do this.

Well, I joined Team Wench and that makes it less scary. I hate asking too, but breast cancer has touched SO many people.

Seriously, do you know 180 people? 90? 45? That's ten, twenty or 40 bucks from each of them...

They give you ideas and the worst that happens is you don't walk, you raised some cash but you don't walk.

that said a lot of folks bring in extra checks and stuff on the checkin to help the folk who haven't quite made it. It's amazzing!

That's the reason I've wanted to do this....my mother has had a double mastectomy. Thing is, I don't know if I could come up with 45 people even....and not all of those could afford to give. Maybe that's what intimidates me the most...not having a large pool of people to ask from.

Very very cool.

Last year I did the local ACS Strides walk on the Mall. Couldn't this year as the walk was on the same day as our wedding :|

Go you :D
