It’s been almost two weeks that a little black-haired boy was always asking what the date was to his best buddy. The other boy didn’t mind replying to him of course but the constant questioning was getting weirder and weirder. Why would he need to know which day it was? He could have asked his parents… Yes, it was weird.
“Hey Yunnie~!” a six year-old boy exclaimed suddenly when he saw his best friend.
The said Yunnie turned to see him and smiled widely. He got a peck on the cheek, blushed lightly before walking hand in hand in the playground, heading to their classroom.
“So I was cooking with mummy! We made waffles and… I have one for you,” he added with a little voice as he looked at his feet, smiling.
“Joongie is so nice, thank you!” little Yunho said to him while hugging him with a kiss on Jaejoong’s cheek.
“Oh! Do you know what day it is?”
“Err… isn’t it the 10th?”
“Yes, it’s four days before the 14th!” little Jaejoong nodded eagerly.
Though, when Yunho was about to ask him for some explanation, their teacher called them, ruining Jaejoong’s excitement. He’ll ask his friend about it later, if he wouldn’t forget that is…
“Wow! A golden taw!!” a little boy shouted with enthusiasm. “Where did you get it??”
“My mum bought it for me since I had A at the test,” a boy called Changmin replied proudly.
“Not fair…” little Junsu pouted.
The four little boys continued playing marbles during playtime when Jaejoong ran towards them -or Yunho actually. It startled little Yoochun who missed his cast, throwing the little object at Junsu’s leg. Junsu cried, Yoochun widened his eyes, Changmin laughed, Jaejoong took Yunho’s hand and the latter smiled.
“Do you know what day it is, Yunnie?” the black-haired boy asked with joy, almost hopping.
“The 11th, why?”
“Soon it’s the 14th you know that right?”
“What’s on the 14th? I don’t understand Joongie…”
The latter let go of his friend’s hand and frowned. How could Yunho not know? Was he doing this on purpose? Of course he was! He wanted to play stupid! Joongie giggled by himself and left his gang. Little Yunho immediately turned to his friends. He had to know now!
“What’s the 14th? Do you know? Pleeeease,” he almost begged.
“It’s White Day, duh~”
Everyone looked at little Changmin who seemed to know more about this date.
“Boys offer presents to girls as a thank you for Valentine’s day. No Chunnie, it’s not White Clothes’ Day,” the youngest spoke as if he read minds.
After his friend’s explanation, Yunho was deep in thought. So his Joongie wanted to have presents? But, there was a problem! That was why he got up and tried to find his best bud. A minute after, he made his way towards the little boy and called him.
“Hey Joongie, about the 14th… it’s a day for girls, Minnie told me.”
“No it’s not!” Jaejoong shook his head, not wanting to listen to his friend.
“It is and Joongie is not a girl.”
The other little boy felt tears in his eyes until he cried while running away. His best friend was about to follow him but the bell rang, meaning that they all have to come back in their classrooms.
For three days, little Jaejoong didn’t talk to his best friend. He avoided him and stayed with his other classmates. Poor boy, he was just heartbroken. He didn’t even care about Yunho since then. When the 14th of March came, the little boy was feeling really gloomy. He didn’t even eat nutella!
“Jaejoongie, you’ve got mail.” His mom told him while handing him a little letter.
With wide eyes, her son immediately opened the envelope. He never had mail, it was strange. The handwriting was a little messed up but he recognized who it was. ‘For Joongie’ he read out loud. There was a white paper with a little elephant on it and a little red heart causing Jaejoong to smile widely. The day seemed to start well.
For once he didn’t see his best friend, he wanted to thank him and excuse himself. With a sigh, he walked to his school locker and there was a little paper on top of his stuff. Oh! Another elephant! ‘He’s so cute~’ Jaejoong thought as he took the paper and put it in his notebook -where his morning letter was.
He got rid of his school bag and took his jacket off to hang it in a hat rack in the corridor. When he was about to pick his bag up, his friend Yoochun ran towards him, out of breath.
“Hey Chunnie! You-”
The said Chunnie didn’t even bother to answer to him and gave him a letter. And he left the second after his friend had the envelope in his hands. Jaejoong pouted but got curious, it was weird. He opened the little envelope and saw a little drawing with an elephant and a bunny.
“Because I’m your bunny <3” the little boy read out loud, recognizing once again his best friend’s handwriting before blushing.
Little Jaejoong wanted to thank his Yunnie for all those drawings when he got to see him in the classroom but the bell rang and their teacher entered in the room. He sighed once again as he made his way to his seat. Oh surprise, there was a red letter on his table! ‘I’m the bunny and you’re the elephant, okay? :3 Have my red balloon! Love, Yunnie.’
Now little Jaejoong was really excited to meet his best bud. He was getting so impatient that he didn’t even pay attention to his teacher. He wanted playtime, right now!
Finally the bell rang and Jaejoong ran towards his Yunnie to hug him really tightly.
“Thank you so, so, so, so much Yunnie!” the little black-haired boy exclaimed when the other moved him away.
“Wait!”
Little Yunho seemed to look for something in his school bag. His friend got even more curious. After a minute or so, the brown-haired boy handed him a plush.
“Here, you have the bunny and I have the elephant, okay?”
Jaejoong looked at the object then at his Yunnie and embraced him as he cried. The taller boy panicked, he wasn’t supposed to cry!
“I love it Yunnie!” little Jaejoong said while rubbing his eyes with his tiny fists.
He tiptoed and left a kiss on the other’s cheek murmuring an ‘I love you, Yunnie.’ The latter blushed even more and imitated him. ‘Happy white day, Joongie.’
Somewhere in the classroom, a little boy was shaking his head with a sigh.
“Tsk, Yunnie is lucky I knew what White Day was… He should be forever grateful to me hehehe,” little Changmin smirked.
