Yup...lots of fun :-)

I started making art at 6am every morning, was served three healthy, freshly cooked meals a day, went for long walks on their lovely nature filled grounds after each meal and finished art making around midnight. A whole week of it=my dream life.

The retreat center is in Northern California- Auburn. The name of the place is Mercy Center. It's run by retired Catholic Nuns, who are very open minded. They host all sorts of retreats and events run by people who have a wide range of beliefs, including ones outside of their own. I did the Soul Collage workshop there too. Wonderful place and people.

I really struggled and pushed hard for that journal spread. SOoooo many layers and it doesn't even show up in the pic. The imagery is THICKLY embedded in layers of gel medium- which gives it an encaustic, waxy look.

The map girls are my favorite...sooooo much fun to make them :-)
